From our workshop in Vietnam to ports and destinations around the world, we take every step to prepare your classic Vespa or Lambretta for international transport.
Shipping a vintage Vespa or Lambretta internationally requires more than simply putting a scooter into a crate. We carefully prepare, secure and inspect every scooter before it leaves our workshop in Vietnam.
Our custom wooden crates are designed around the dimensions of the scooter, helping keep the machine stable and protected throughout international transport.
With years of experience shipping classic Italian scooters, we have developed a careful packing process designed to minimize movement, scratches, dents and moisture exposure during transit.
Every scooter is carefully secured, protected and inspected before the crate is sealed and transferred to our freight forwarder.
Our wooden crates are custom-designed around the dimensions of the scooter. They are constructed from durable 1/2-inch plywood and reinforced with sturdy wooden supports.
The scooter is secured using tailor-made clamps at the front wheel and kickstand. Vulnerable areas are wrapped and padded to help prevent scratches and dents.
Chrome parts are treated with protective paste to help preserve their finish during transportation.
Spare parts and accessories are individually wrapped and padded before being placed securely inside the crate. The interior is lined with UV-resistant, water-repellent plastic to help protect against dust and moisture.
Before sealing, every shipment undergoes multiple inspections. Our crates are prepared to comply with international shipping requirements, and shipments are fumigated and treated against pests as required.
Actual weight can vary depending on the scooter model and included accessories.
We work with experienced freight forwarders to arrange international transportation for our scooters. Our goal is to find a secure and cost-effective shipping solution based on the destination and shipment requirements.
We can ship to major seaports around the world and can also discuss shipping options for destinations outside our standard routes.
Once your scooter is in transit, the forwarding company will contact you to coordinate pickup and provide guidance through the customs and import process.
Customs procedures, import requirements, taxes and local charges vary by country. We recommend checking with your local customs or import authorities for requirements specific to your destination.
After the scooter clears customs, you will normally be directed to a nearby warehouse for pickup. In our experience, a small pickup truck is usually sufficient to transport the scooter.
If you cannot collect the scooter yourself, local delivery can usually be arranged directly with the warehouse for an additional fee.
We are pleased to offer free shipping to major seaports worldwide for qualifying Door-to-Door delivery arrangements. Unusual or remote destinations may require an additional shipping charge.
Contact us with your destination and we will confirm the available shipping options and costs before you place your order.
Vintage Vespa and Lambretta shipping requires precision. We inspect every shipment before the crate is sealed and take practical measures to minimize movement and potential shipping-related damage.
To date, we have never had to file an insurance claim for shipping damage. While we cannot control every event once a shipment is in transit, we remain available to assist our customers and support the claims process when necessary.
